Only a short walk to the Upper Town, Monastère des Augustines was very conveniently located. The exterior of the building exuded a calmness that continued inside. Beautifully restored, the building offered a comfortable stay for our three nights in Quebec City. The contemporary room on the upper floor offered two single beds and our private bathroom. The room was not serviced during our stay, though we could put out our towels in the bag provided in exchange for fresh ones daily. Breakfast was included and was had in silence - everyone respected this and ate quietly. Additional meals and drink were available throughout the day to purchase. These were reasonably priced. We joined the English guided tour of the building (no charge if staying) which took us to, amonst other places, the Vault - it was interesting to hear and see more of the history of the place. We also looked at the Chapel and Church. This was a very different experience in terms of accommodation, but an absolutely beautiful one!

The cleanliness of the Monastère is perfection - it makes sense that the hotel would follow the same housekeeping rules and values as the old hospital. They use a signature scent that is very unique to the place and not overwhelming nor overpowering. My wife and I stayed in the traditional room with the shared bathrooms and never seen any speck of dirt in them. Always spotless. Our room was looking out to the river, so it was nice waking up to a new cruise ship docked in the port. For my mum and aunt, both seniors close to their 80s, it made sense to stay in the contemporary room with ensuite bathroom and it was also an amazing experience. Breakfast had a lot of variety and is veggie/vegan friendly :)) Also, if you're taller than 175cm (5ft7), you might struggle with the 150cm (5ft) doors and low ceilings.

We stayed in the rooms with shared bathrooms. It was such a pleasant experience. The rooms and bathrooms were so clean. The rooms were quiet and well appointed. It was delightful to stay in a museum and experience how the sisters of the monastary lived. The beds were exceptionally comfortable- I ordered the same pillows and sheets for my guest room at home when I got back. Silent breakfast was realxing and the food delicious, fresh and healthy. It was a nice way to start the day. The hotel was ideally located in the heart of Quebec City. It is pristine, has beautiful views and 100% walkable to every attraction the city offers.

All the staffs are so nice so friendly and always ready to help! The two grils at the reception desk, Maria-Josicena and Audrey-Anne helped a lot. They help me to get a bus pass, and told me how to use it and where can I go with it. I follow their advice and took the bus to the Montmorency Fall, and took the bus to the airport as well! They printed out the routine map which helps a lot. I like the musuem too! I took a afternoon tour and I learned a lot. The breakfast is fresh, healthy and organic! There is no junk food or unhealthy food served for breakfast. Highly appreciated! The location is perfect!

This is a former monastery (actually more like a nunnery) that has been converted to a spa-like hotel. The rooms are the actual rooms formerly occupied by the nuns and are quite small (duck your head to get in) but comfortable. There's a sink in the room but the bathrooms and showers are down the hall and shared by all the guests. They observe "silent breakfast" which is a nice way to ease in to the day. Excellent healthy food. Museum-like exhibits show the history of the place. Location is excellent, only a block or so away from lots of restaurants. A unique experience.
